Away is a Netflix series with a thrilling emotional drama genre on an epic scale that celebrates the incredible progress that humans can make and the personal sacrifices they have to make along the way.
The storyline revolves around the moment American astronaut Emma Green(Hilary Swank)prepares to lead an international crew on her first mission to Mars, she must reconcile her decision to leave her husband(Josh Charles)and teenage daughter(Talitha Bateman)when they desperately need her.
As the crew’s journey into space intensifies, their personal dynamics and effects away from their loved ones on Earth become more complex, resulting in a variety of conflicts between themselves and their fellow crewmates, especially as the journey is not as smooth as imagined.
Away shows that sometimes to reach for the stars, we have to leave the house.

The series is planned to consist of 10 episodes with the duration of each episode being about an hour.Interestingly the series is inspired by the true story of Scott Kelly, an astronaut who held the helm of the International Space Station (ISS) on Expeditions 26, 45, and 46 ago, then in 2016 he later retired.
The famous quote from Scott Kelly is
“After spending a year in space, I was absolutely inspired that if we can dream it, we can do it… and most importantly, if we work as a team, because teamwork makes the dream work. The sky is not the limit.”
Chris Jones wrote an article about Scott Kelly at Esquire in 2014, from which the series was later developed.
The timing of the series is in the closest time to present life, with an emphasis on exploring the effects of distance on the lives of astronauts.
Through flashbacks, real-time communication, and landscapes in space and on earth, will be further revealed about each astronaut’s unique situation and history, and the personal challenges they must face to complete their important missions.
