Minggu ini, nonton film Black Box di Prime Video. Kalau lihat dari trailernya , alur ceritanya lebih ke arah thriller misteri, jadi penasaran lalu memutuskan untuk nonton. Seperti apa trailernya?
Review Black Box dimulai dari sini. Kalau dilihat dari trailernya, ini kasihan banget karakter utamanya, Nolan Wright (diperankan oleh Mamoudou Athie) mengalami kecelakaan yang membuat dirinya amnesia. Ini dikatakan bersifat sementara, sehingga dalam kejadian sehari-hari, ia mengandalkan bantuan puterinya , yang dengan gaya seperti Ibunya mulai mengatur Nola. Jika Nolan merasa tidak nyaman, teman-teman di sekelilingnya selalu mengingatkan bahwa Nolan sangat mencintai isteri dan anaknya, sehingga Nolan pun beranggapan bahwa ini semua akibat emosinya yang tak stabil.
Namun Nolan tidak merasa hidup tenang, ia selalu dihantui dengan mimpi-mimpi aneh, seperti sosok tubuh yang bergerak tidak wajar tanpa kepala, serta sosok perempuan dengan wajah yang kabur terselimuti oleh sesuatu.
Nolan pun mulai berkonsultasi dengan dokternya di rumah sakit. Dokternya mulai menyarankan agar Nolan menjalami serangkaian test , untuk membantu dirinya kembali mengingat akan masa lalunya.
Disini sudah ada banyak tanda-tanda mencurigakan, untuk proses pengembalian ingatannya , karena mengapa sosok yang muncul dalam mimpi , mendadak kembali muncul , lagi dan lagi. penampakan pertama kedua sosok dalam mimpi ini, memang bikin gregetan seram. Serius dipikir akan ada adegan brutal atau seperti gore gitu. Namun ternyata kok , cuma kebagian tampilan seram seram belaka, jadi lanjut ditonton.
Nah , kejutan yang hadir kemudian ini, dirasakan sama seperti alur cerita Get Out , yang polanya adalah menguasai pikiran manusia dengan metoda-metoda ilmah. Pokoknya penjelasan singkatnya itu memang meyakinkan sekali, sampai yang nonton dijamin akan terbawa suasana dan mengiyakan.
Dimulai dari adegan ini, sudah susah buat meninggalkan film ini. Bukan apa-apa, langsung timbul banyak teori-teori mengenai “penguasaan pikiran manusia“. Kemudian juga penasaran, kalau ada orang lain diberikan info ini, bagaimana reaksinya? Kemudian dibawa lagi membuak rahasia dibalik sang dokter Lilian Brooks (diperankan oleh Phylicia Rashad ) dan putranya Thomas ( diperankan oleh Donald Elise Watkins )
Disini tebakan beberapa penonton adalah benar adanya, ternyata ada hubungan Ibu dan anak, antara Lilian Brooks dengan Thomas. Detik ini terungkap, misteripun mulai terbuka. Kabut yang menyelimuti wajah sosok perempuan menjadi hilang dan yang merinding ternyata ini disengaja.
Namun tenang, tidak ada adegan gore , meskipun hawa-hawanya sangat mendukung. Ini disini sempat seram juga, karena terbiasa disuguhi adegan-adegan gore, maka pemikiran diri sendiripun seolah menyajikan dan menantikan. Namun di film ini aman, yang nonton cuma disajikan fakta “ilmiah” yang menyedihkan dari kasih sayang seorang Ibu untuk anaknya.
Seorang Ibu tak akan pernah melihat anaknya berlaku salah, seorang Ibu akan melakukan apa saja agar anaknya mendapatkan kesempatan kedua.
Bisa dikatakan di bagian ini adegan demi adegannya, agak menyeramkan plus menyebalkan. menyeramkan karena Lilian meminta agar Thomas membunuh sosok karakter yang satu lagi, menyebalkan karena ternyata oh ternyata itu adalah sosok dari Nolan
Duh kemana aja?
Ternyata pemikirannya ditekan sedemikan dalam, saat Thomas mengambil alih badan Nolan dan dibagian ini mulai dramanya muncul dan yang menonton akan dibawa ke pemahaman, kalau Thomas ini sosok lelaki yang memang sepantasnya jangan ada di muka bumi ini.
Thomas pun saat teringat akan sifat dan jati dirinya, lalu membandingkan dengan Nolan, jadi bimbang untuk meneruskan membunuh Nolan.
Ingat-ingat semua ini terjadi di dalam alam pemikiran alias di dalam otak manusia. Jadi seram nya ..ini kan ruang terbatas , bisa tidak ya badan satu manusia ini terus menerus menampung pikiran dua manusia?
Kemudian kehadiran puteri Nolan , yang tiba-tiba muncul mendadak mengagetkan Nola. Nolan pun jadi ingin melawan. Disini adegan semakin seru, walaupun sudah dapat diduga pemenangnya siapa? Namun Thomas nampaknya kecewa akan dirinya sendiri, ia mengambil keputusan dan sikap yang mengejutkan. Ia undur diri ke ruang sebelah, dimana kegelapan menanti dan dia duduk-duduk saja disitu.
Jika dikira film ini selesai sampai disini saja. Makanya dugaan salah, Lilian pada sesi akhirnya langsung mengotak -atik lagi laboratoriumnya dan kesadaran Thomas pun diperlihatkan kembali hadir.
Duh, calon film lanjutankah? Demikian review Black Box dan jangan lupa ditonton untuk penggemat genre thriller.
